I'm a strange creature, living a charmed life: I'm in my early twenties, in the midst of a successful long-term polyamorous relationship between myself and slickscale and also myself and blith. I've been with Slickscale for over 7 years, and Blith for over 3 years now.My interests are widespread and varied; at any given time I can be found socializing with furries, spanking my girlfriend, romancing my boyfriend, bicycling long distances, teaching first aid and CPR, writing fiction, dreaming of Thailand, managing a business, carving shakujo, reading philosphy, thinking about animism, researching Yamabushi and shintoist faiths, playing video games, MUCKing, telling people they're worthy and beautiful, crying over the tragedies of our times, drinking Diet Pepsi, spinning around in a circle in the middle of a grassy field until I fall down dizzy, dreaming about climbing waterfalls, climbing waterfalls, meditating, eating, cleaning, breathing, walking, practicing philanthropy anonymously, dreaming about being a dragon, playing texas hold'em, or reading or writing any of the following: ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} bad_sex, submissiveblog, tapestries, noctis, and probably a few others I've forgotten. I'm also the owner and moderator of 8bitrapbattle, a silly and fun place to throw down your 8-bit themed rhymes.--- My life is rather broadly defined by four broad categories of social dynamic and activity right now: My relationships, furry fandom, BDSM, and writing. I've been involved in "Furry Fandom" for the past eight years or so, primarily as a social outlet, and secondarily a genre whose subjects for literature and artwork interest me. I enjoy the use of anthropomorphization as a tool to explore fundamental human nature, by pulling back our own layers of behavior and projecting them onto something else, it tends to give us enough distance to understand ourselves and our own fundamental natures. As such, I write (not at all exclusively, but a good proportion) anthropomorphic science fiction, exploring worlds and universes that are either post-humanity or transcendant of humanity. Some stories are erotic, most aren't. I consider such as valid a topic as any. My stroke stories can be found here, as part of the yiffstar community. BDSM is something that has fit well into my life with blith. Elements of my life and relationships have always fallen under the convictions that meshed with a successful and healthy D/S relationship. I write regularly in a half-dozen different communities regarding BDSM and it's impact on my life and relationships. My firm belief is the highest calling of a dominant partner is: To understand and accept that awesome strength and honor offered to him by the devotion of the submissive partner, and to accept that strength and redouble it back upon the submissive partner, to protect and support them in the times when even that great inner strength is not enough. Trust is given through the expression of vulnerability. We demonstrate "I trust you." by making ourselves vulnerable to someone. And I, in return, honor that, by accepting that trust and applying it's liberties in ways that place the best interests of my submissive partner foremost. I am consciously aware that that privelege can be revoked at any time if I am not worthy of it, and thus I strive in everything I do to remain worthy of that submission. On polyamoury: Ironically, originally I was always the agitator for monogamy within my relationship with slickscale. I've been with him for over seven years now, and I love him deeply, abidingly. He's the mortar that holds my bricks together, he's the warm smell and scent and constancy. He's been there for me through seven years of my life, and we both hope he'll be there for fifty more. At the time we met, we were both very young men, and monogamy seemed more inconvenience and limitation. Over the years, my feelings on that changed, and I wanted more and more just to be with him, while respecting the bounds of our relationship's "rules". I'm hoping one day he asks me to marry him. In the meanwhile, our rules on an "open" relationship are simple: Let the other person know about it, meet the person, and approve of them. And over five years we've only ever vetoed one person, who proved themselves not even 24 hours later to be a major mistake anyway, so we made the right choice.Slickscale and I have always dated others throughout our relationship, each time making it 100% known to all parties involved, in advance, the situation and the rules that he and I had established for ourselves. About 3 years ago I started dating blith, and some months in realized that, when I hadn't been paying attention, I'd fallen in love with her.So I did the only thing I could do: I rearranged my life to make sure that both Slickscale and Blith could fit as part of my life. --- On first aid training: I'm presently a professional first aid instructor under the Saint John Ambulance protocols, and I teach Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid, and CPR, usually 4 days out of the week. It's a valuable skill to have, and I'm glad to be able to teach others it. --- On writing: Most of my creative writing that's been put to livejournal is under my fiction tag, though sometimes I use that tag for reviewing other pieces of fiction too. I'm trying to make a writer's circle work; if you're interested, watch my journal for updates. I plan to consider giving up writing once I've won a Hugo and/or Nebula. That's consider, not will. ;) Since I'm a long way from either of those awards yet... --- Go through my Memories list; some are serious, some are whimsical, most are moments of high drama that really don't have a ton of bearing on who I am now, so much as were highly important moments at-the-time-of-their-writing.
